Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 10, 2026
The short version: the file tools on OnlyFiles run entirely in your browser. When you compress, convert, merge, encrypt, watermark or scrub a file, that file is never uploaded to us or to anyone else — it never leaves your device. This policy covers the other things the site handles: optional account sign-in and basic hosting data.
1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how OnlyFiles ("OnlyFiles", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you use onlyfiles.in (the "Site"). It applies to anyone who visits the Site or creates an account.
2. Information we collect
Files you process with our tools. Not collected. Every tool — image and PDF compression, format conversion, merging, watermarking, the privacy scrubber, the security vault, QR generation, batch renaming and the rest — runs locally in your browser using standard web technologies (Canvas, Web Crypto, and similar libraries loaded into the page). Your files are read into your browser's memory, processed there, and offered back to you as a download. They are never sent to an OnlyFiles server or stored by us in any form.
Account information. If you create an account or sign in, we (through our authentication provider, Supabase) collect the email address and password you provide, or, if you choose "Sign in with Google," the basic profile information Google shares with us for that purpose (typically your name, email address and profile picture), governed by your Google account settings and Google's own privacy policy.
Payment information. OnlyFiles is completely 100% free. We do not collect, process, or store credit cards, bank accounts, or any payment information.
Automatically collected data. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs basic technical data for every visit — your IP address, browser type, device type, and the pages you request — for security, abuse prevention, and keeping the Site running.
Local storage and preferences. The Site uses your browser's local storage to remember non-sensitive preferences, such as your light/dark theme choice, and to keep your sign-in session active between visits.
Cookies and Advertising Partners (Google AdSense). We may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to OnlyFiles or other websites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to our site and/or other sites across the web. You may opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of third-party advertising cookies by visiting aboutads.info.
3. How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account, and to keep you signed in.
- To operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site.
- To respond if you contact us with a question or support request.
- To display relevant advertisements via third-party advertising networks (such as Google AdSense).
- To meet legal obligations where required by law.
We do not sell your personal files or personal information. Advertising partners manage their own ad cookies as described above.
4. Who we share information with
We use trusted third-party service providers to support OnlyFiles:
- Supabase — hosts our authentication system and account database.
- Google — provides "Sign in with Google" as an optional authentication method.
- Google AdSense — delivers advertising services and utilizes advertising cookies in compliance with Google publisher policies.
- Vercel — hosts the Site and executes serverless API routes.
We do not share your information with any other third party except where required by law, to protect our legal rights, or with your explicit consent.
5. Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your account and profile data within our systems, other than records we're legally required to keep or backups that age out on their normal schedule.
6. Security
Your account data is protected by Row Level Security on our database, meaning your account information is only readable by you. All traffic to the Site is encrypted over HTTPS. That said, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can exercise any of these by emailing us at the address below. We'll respond as promptly as we can.
You can also delete your account at any time by contacting us, and you can use every free OnlyFiles tool without ever creating an account.
8. Children's privacy
OnlyFiles is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it.
9. International data
Our service providers may process and store data in countries other than your own. Where this happens, we rely on those providers' own safeguards and compliance measures for cross-border data transfer.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the Site changes. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
